RECIPE / RESEP
INGREDIENTS
- 1 roll of original shortcrust pastry,
- 1 tub (230 g) cream cheese, softened,
- 125 ml sugar,
- 4 large eggs, room temperature,
- 5 ml vanilla,
- 250-300 ml chopped pecans,
- 1 tin (360 g) caramel treat or 200 ml caramel ice cream topping,
- icing sugar for garnish.
Grease the Round Pie Dish with butter and line with the pastry. Trim the edges by folding them back or cutting them off.
Use a small bowl to beat the cream cheese, sugar, one egg and vanilla until smooth. Spread over the crust and sprinkle with pecans.
In a small bowl, whisk the remaining eggs and caramel treat/caramel topping until blended. Pour slowly over the pecans. Put in a cold oven, turn it on at 160ºC and bake for 35-40 minutes or until lightly brown and set.
Cool for one hour and refrigerate for 4 hours or overnight before slicing. Garnish with icing sugar powder or with additional caramel.

- 1 rol oorspronklike broskorsdeeg,
- 1 pakkie (230 g) roomkaas, saggemaak,

- 4 groot eiers, kamertemperatuur,
- 5 ml vanielje,
- 250-300 ml gekapte pekanneute,
- 1 blik (360 g) caramel treat of 200 ml karamel roomysbolaag, versiersuiker vir garnering.
Smeer die Round Pie Dish met botter en voer met die deeg uit. Sny die rante af deur dit terug te vou of af te sny.
Gebruik ‘n klein bakkie om die roomkaas, suiker, een eier en vanielje te klits tot glad. Smeer oor die kors en sprinkel pekanneute oor.
In ‘n klein bak, klits die oorblywende eiers en caramel treat/karamelbolaag tot gemeng. Gooi stadig oor die pekanneute. Sit in ‘n koue oond, skakel dit aan by 160ºC en bak vir 35-40 minute of tot ligbruin en gestol.
Verkoel vir een uur en verkoel vir 4 uur of oornag voor jy dit in skywe sny. Garneer met versiersuikerpoeier of met bykomende karamel.
