Cooking and Baking Questions

Frozen vegetables should always be rinsed/thawed before use. Always avoid temperature shock. Never add cold liquids/ingredients to hot pottery, or extremely hot liquids to cold pottery. 

Yes. Argilla is oven (electric, gas, convection), air fryer, microwave and dishwasher save. The recommended maximum temperature is 160°C, especially when using the Oval Roasters.

For a Gas Oven/Air Fryer: Use at 140°C for the first 30-minutes, then increase to 160°C.

NEVER PREHEAT THE OVEN. Place your Argilla in a cold oven and let it gradually warm up with the oven.

Never use Argilla on stove plates, open fire or under the grill of the oven. You can fry food like onions or mushrooms in the microwave oven by using your bowl without a lid on.

Oil is not necessary but can be used if desired. For vegetables and meat: Adding a little water to get the steam roasting process started is recommended – just enough to cover the base of your roaster.

Dry Ingredients:
Rice: Use 2-3 cups of water with 1-cup of rice.
Stywe Pap: 1-cup of maize meal to 3 cups of water.
Krummelpap: 1-cup of maize meal to 1-cup of water.
Slap Pap: 1-cup of maize meal to 5-cups of water.

We always suggest 160°C. Argilla can be used at 180°C but thermostats are not reliable and can cause damage if the temperatures are too high. To stay on the safe side, use 160°C whenever you can.

No. But with Argilla’s unique steam-roasting process, your meat will brown beautifully from within your roaster. Your meat will stay juicy and tender with a crispy outside.

Putting your meat under the grill will only dry out your meat.

Spray your roasters with oven cleaner and leave them overnight. Wash them off the following morning and your products will look as good as new!

Curry does not stain the Country Style glaze, but some cutlery metals can leave marks after a while.

Product and Sales Questions

Yes. We sell all our products as bowl and lid separately. Please note that because Argilla products are handmade, the lids might not be an exact fit. This is perfectly normal and does not make your product inferior in any way, shape or form.

Although Argilla products are very durable and true value for money products, they can still break. Argilla does not offer a warranty against breakage but we do sell bowls and lids separately, so you don’t need to replace the whole unit if something breaks.

No. Although we have a standard size-guide for all our product, the production process are not exact because our products are handmade. Shapes, sizes and colour might differ slightly. This is all part of the creative beauty of handmade products.

Yes. We offer interest-free lay-buy options of up to 6 months.

  • 2-Month Option -> R600-R1 000.
  • 3-Month Option – R1 000-R2000.
  • 4-5 Month Option – R2000+.
  • 6-Month Option – R3000+.

Orders over R2650.00 qualify for free delivery.

Normal delivery fee = R160.00 p/delivery.

Some rural areas, farms, small holdings, hospitals, fire stations, chain stores, and addresses outside a town may have a surcharge of up to R420.00 on their delivery. Kindly check with your marketer/affiliate/head office before placing your order.

Argilla Pottery products are all handmade. Production to delivery takes between 3-4 weeks. Your Argilla marketer will keep you updated on the progress of your order.
